Grotta dei Nasi Lunghi  PDF

La Grotta dei Nasi Lunghi (The Cave of the Long Noses) is a beautiful crag in the cave at the top of St. Nicholas Canyon. It owes its name to stalactites hanging on the ceiling. The pitches are mainly pumpy on pipes and fine concretions.

Avvicinamento:

Coming from Iglesias, reaching the sea in the direction of Buggeru. Without getting into the village of Buggerru, continue on the coast road towards the village of St. Nicholas and the beach Portixeddu. At the low end of the beach find a detour to the right with signals of trekking to some mines. Continuing on the road passing near a huge sand dune partially covered by vegetation, a little further on you come to a bridge, do not cross it but continue on the dirt road to the right and park immediately next to a fence. From here, take the path that goes left of the net and after about 150 meters take the road to the right that leads to the canyon in a few minutes. Go up on the canyon passing all the other sectors towards the cave visible on the top. At the end of the path continue on the left side, pass some easy rocks (you find a ring for descending), search for a trail in the right and passing some other rocks you reach the cave. Mind that the approach could be quite demanding at some points.
